What campers actually say.

Unedited, straight from the people who showed up nervous and left hooked.

I signed up for Boston Surf Adventures weekend camp on a whim, and it was truly a great decision! Grant, who runs the camp, is a really kind person who is SO passionate about surfing. Our groups were small, and my coach, Christine, gave me a lot of great tips on how to better my form and was super supportive. Something that’s really amazing about this camp is that the coaches are really passionate about teaching people how to be self-sufficient surfers and feel comfortable to surf on their own. Our camp cohort has already made multiple plans to get together and surf! I have already recommended the camp to a number of my friends and could not stress enough how much joy it has brought me!

If I could give Boston Surf Adventures 10 stars, I would. Grant + co are amazing instructors: insightful, encouraging, and SO knowledgeable. They’ll meet you where you are and never push you past your limits, but they will push you just enough that you’re guaranteed to learn the basics of surfing in a matter of days.

Surf Camp was a summer highlight, and I’d recommend that anyone looking to surf in the New England area come to Boston Surf Adventures. I’ll definitely be back for more.

I had the most fun weekend at surf camp with Boston Surf Adventures! The coaches were encouraging and patient and gave targeted feedback, which created a really supportive learning environment. They were game to answer all of our surfing-related questions and the small coach-to-student ratio allowed us to catch waves pretty continuously. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to try surfing or learn new skills.

Before you book

Honest answers.

Yes - most of our weekend is Level 0 and Level 1. You do not need to know anything. You need to be comfortable swimming about 50 yards, and willing to fall off a board cheerfully.
Nahant's beach is chosen specifically because it produces rideable whitewater in very small surf - we run down to knee-high. True flat days are rare here, and if one happens, we move to paddling drills, ocean reading, and a longer video session.
May and October: around 54°F - we issue 4/3 fullsuits. June–September: 60–68°F, 3/2s. Your wetsuit and board are included in the $289 price.
Lodging is not included - most campers book an Airbnb in Nahant or stay at the Nahant Inn. We send a curated list when you register, with two group-rate partners.
Plans change, and we get it. Email us as early as you can and we will sort out a refund or a credit to a future session. Weather cancellations on our end are always a full refund or credit, your call.
Yes - Nahant is a beautiful place to read a book on the beach for a weekend. They're welcome at Saturday dinner too for a small per-head charge. Just drop us a note after you book.
