The waves at Rincon, Puerto Rico
The waves

Best variety of waves on the planet.

Rincon means "corner" in Spanish, which means we have tons of nooks and crannies to find the perfect wave to match your level. Whether you’re a beginner surfer searching for glassy two foot peelers, or an advanced surfer looking for steep overhead walls, we can find it for you. The trade winds blow across the tropics from December through April, sending consistent swell every day. Offshore winds every morning until at least 10AM mean glassy conditions. And because our coaches have called Rincon home their entire lives, we know exactly where to go to have the break to ourselves.

The coaching

Progress that actually sticks.

Two daily sessions with our in-water local coaches who have surfed and coached in Rincón their whole lives. We keep a 3:1 client-to-coach ratio (sometimes 2:1), and when abilities differ we split the group across separate breaks so everyone surfs waves matched to their level. Every morning session is fully filmed - every single wave. Then we sit down together for a video review we call the "blooper reel." The rule: two changes per session, max. Not five, not ten. Two high-leverage things you can actually focus on. We ground everything in the BSA Progression Pyramid. You will know exactly where you are on the ladder and what it takes to move up.

Villa Playa Oria pool and beachfront
The house

Steps from the beach, close to town.

Our Luxury Villa sits directly on the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, right on Dogman's beach, less than a mile from the center of Rincon. Steps from the water, but not stuck there. When you're done surfing, you can walk to nearby coffee shops and restaurants, or just stare at the ocean from the patio. The house has everything - pool, hot tub, full kitchen, A/C, and enough space that you are never on top of each other.

The community

No one eats alone.

The BSA community is genuinely one of the best things about this trip. Our guests are warm, inclusive, and real, whether you're an introvert or an extrovert, whether you're from Boston or somewhere much further afield. The only rule at BSA is: nobody eats alone. You will leave this trip having made friends for life.

Private chef food at the villa
The food

Healthy, filling, and actually good.

Breakfast and lunch are included every day, prepared by a private chef who is well known on the island. The food is designed to be healthy and filling. Your body needs to recover after two surf sessions and a video review, not feel heavy from greasy food. You will come back from the first session famished. You will leave the table feeling right.

All meals are included in the trip: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Safety & logistics

The easiest trip you'll take.

Puerto Rico is a 4-hour direct flight from Boston, with direct service from every major East Coast city. No connecting flights, no bag transfers, no passport required. It is also the safest destination in the Caribbean. You can leave your sandals on the beach and they will be there when you get back two hours later. We handle airport pickup, all ground transport, and every logistics detail. You just need to show up.

Before you book

Good questions.

No. We take complete beginners and experienced surfers. Tell us your level when you book and we build the week around where you are - not where you think you should be.
If by the end of the week you have not experienced surf progress, perfect waves, warm weather, and a new group of friends - we refund your airfare. No questions asked. We have never had to honor it.
Yes. Puerto Rico is the safest destination in the Caribbean. Rincon in particular is an extremely safe, friendly town. You can leave your gear on the beach and come back to it two hours later. We have run trips there for years with no security incidents.
No. Puerto Rico is a US territory. A valid US ID or driver's license is all you need. No customs, no currency exchange.
You can save your spot with a $499 refundable deposit.  The remainder of the balance is due 2 weeks later (we are flexible).  Once you've paid, there's no refunds, however with travel insurance you can definitely get your money back.
An 8-week program we send you before the trip to get your paddling fitness and pop-up mechanics dialed in before you hit the water. Optional but highly recommended - every week of prep translates to noticeably better surfing on day one.
